Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are the core differences between MC17, MC19 and MC22 CBR250RR fairings? Are they interchangeable?
A: The fairings of MC17, MC19 and MC22 are 100% NOT interchangeable. Each generation has unique body contour, headlight cutout shape, mounting bracket positions, air duct layout, tail structure and tank matching profile. Even though all are CBR250RR, you cannot mix body panels between different generations.
✅ CBR250R MC17 (1986–1987)
• Headlight: Twin round dual headlights, the two lamp holes are close together
• Front nose cowl: Slim, narrow front nose cone, small central air intake between headlights
• Side fairing: Simple smooth side panels, small narrow side air vents, no large shark cutout
• Lower belly pan: Narrow and compact lower fairing shape
• Rear tail: Short, slim tail section with narrow tail cowl
• Mounting: Exclusive hole positions and brackets only designed for MC17 frame
✅ CBR250R MC19 (1988–1989)
• Headlight: Twin round dual headlights, much wider gap between the two lamp holes compared with MC17
• Front nose cowl: Wider and bulkier front nose, large dual circular headlight cutouts
• Side fairing: Aggressive shark-mouth style side cutouts, larger side air intake vents
• Lower belly pan: Wider lower fairing, reshaped to match the bigger side panels
• Rear tail: Wider rear tail assembly than MC17
• Mounting: All mounting lugs, holes and bracket positions differ from MC17 and MC22
✅ CBR250RR MC22 (1990–1998)
• Headlight: Single large oval integrated headlight (NOT twin round lamps, this is the easiest identification mark)
• Front nose cowl: Completely redesigned front cowl, one single large oval headlight opening
• Side fairing: Long, curved sweeping side body panels, reshaped side air ducts
• Lower belly pan: Longer and flatter belly pan, different curve matching the frame and engine
• Rear tail: Longer, sharp pointed race-style tail with separate tail cowl structure
• Mounting: Fully unique mounting system, incompatible with MC17 / MC19
Q: How can I quickly identify whether my bike is MC17, MC19 or MC22?
A: The fastest identification method is checking the headlight opening first:
1. Single large oval headlight opening → MC22 (1990-1998)
2. Two round headlights: - Two round holes close together, narrow front nose → MC17 (1986-1987)
- Two round holes far apart, wider front nose with big shark side cutouts → MC19 (1988-1989)
After confirming the headlight, you can check side fairing shape and tail section for double verification.
Q: What material are these CBR250RR fairing kits? What is the difference between injection ABS and handmade fiberglass?
A: Our MC17, MC19 and MC22 fairing kits are made of injection molded ABS plastic.
Injection molded ABS fairings have precise mold, accurate hole positions, good toughness, less cracking risk, perfect fitment. Hand-laid fiberglass fairings usually have bigger tolerance, need lots of sanding and modification during installation. We only supply injection ABS complete bodywork for these three models.
Q: Can I install MC19 fairings onto my MC22 motorcycle? Or fit MC17 fairings on MC19?
A: No, they cannot fit directly, modification will be extremely difficult and not recommended. The frame mounting lugs, headlight housing shape, tank contour, engine cover clearance, tail mounting points and body outer profile are all different. Even if you try to drill new holes, the body curve will not align, gaps will be huge. Please select the fairing strictly according to your bike’s exact model code and production year.
Q: What panels are included in this complete fairing kit?
A: Full complete fairing set includes: Front nose upper cowl, left & right side fairings, lower belly pan, rear tail section, inner cover pieces as shown in product photo.
Free bonus gifts: Windscreen, heat shield, tank stickers, as listed on product page.
Q: Does the paint and decal match the pictures? What about shipping damage?
A: We paint and apply graphics according to the listing photos. Minor color difference may exist due to screen display difference. All fairings are packed with thick foam and hard carton box. We carefully inspect each set before shipment. If you receive damaged parts, please contact us with photos within 48 hours after delivery.
