Frequently Asked Questions
What are the fairing differences between CBR1000RR 2004–2005, 2006–2007, 2008–2011, 2012–2016, 2017–2020, CBR1000RR-R 2020–2024 and CBR1000RR-R 2025–2026?
Core rule: All generations are NOT interchangeable. Each year group uses unique fairing shape, headlight, tail section and mounting points.
Q: What are the fairing differences & compatibility for each CBR1000RR generation? A: ✅ CBR1000RR 2004–2005 (SC57 first gen)
- Headlight: twin rounded lamp, softer curved upper cowl
- Side lower fairing: smooth rounded contour
- Tail cowl: wider rear tail, thick seat shape
- Tank cover: older shape
- Fitment: only for 2004-2005. Cannot swap with 2006-2007 even same SC57 chassis; mounting holes & panel geometry changed.
✅ CBR1000RR 2006–2007 (SC57 facelift)
- Headlight: sharper redesigned twin lamp
- Side & lower fairing: more angular, sportier lines
- Tail assembly: slimmer tail cowl, redesigned rear seat base
- Tank cover revised
- Fitment: 2006 and 2007 fairings interchangeable between themselves. Not compatible with 2004-2005 / 2008+.
✅ CBR1000RR 2008–2011 (SC59)
- Full new chassis + completely redesigned bodywork
- Headlight: narrower dual lamp, new ram-air intake
- Lower side fairing reshaped, distinctive side cutouts
- Tail: slim and sharp rear cowl
- Fitment: 2008 to 2011 fairings are interchangeable within this range. Does not fit older SC57.
✅ CBR1000RR 2012–2016 (SC59 update)
- Same SC59 platform as 2008-2011, but updated fairing mold
- New headlight profile, revised side panels, redesigned tail & seat cowl
- Mounting points different enough: 2008–2011 and 2012–2016 fairings NOT fully interchangeable
- Graphics & air vent layout changed.
✅ CBR1000RR 2017–2020 (SC77)
- Full model redesign, brand-new bodywork
- Sharp aggressive angular styling, LED headlight
- All-new upper cowl, side fairings, tail section and tank cover
- Fitment: 2017–2020 fairings interchangeable within group. Will not fit any prior CBR1000RR generations.
✅ CBR1000RR-R 2020–2024 (SC82 Fireblade)
- Brand new RR-R platform, built-in aerodynamic winglets integrated into upper side fairings
- Low-profile tank cover, extended long lower fairing, fully redesigned headlight & tail
- Fairing mounting structure unique to RR-R. Cannot fit old non-RR CBR1000RR
- 2020–2024 body panels interchangeable within this group.
✅ CBR1000RR-R 2025–2026 (updated SC82)
- Base chassis same as 2020–2024 RR-R, but revised aerodynamic fairing
- Winglets reshaped and moved forward; lower fairing & front fender modified for better downforce
- Headlight outer shape similar, but mounting and air duct details updated
- 2020–2024 RR-R fairing cannot directly bolt to 2025–2026 RR-R without modification.
Q: Can I mix fairing panels from different year groups?
A: No. Each year range uses unique panel shapes, headlight cutouts, tail cowls and bolt mounting positions. Cross-year fitment will require heavy custom modification, not direct bolt-on.
Q: How do I pick the correct fairing kit?
A: Confirm your motorcycle exact year and model (regular CBR1000RR or CBR1000RR-R). Our fairing kits are built as year-group specific direct bolt-on replacement.
